WPBakery 9.1 is planned as a follow-up to the page builder’s 9.0 redesign, extending its updated interface to the Backend Editor. The change is intended to make the two editing environments more consistent, while clearer element information and improved identification of rows and sections should make complex layouts easier to navigate.

The release also proposes more device-specific settings within element controls, covering desktop, tablet and mobile layouts. For WordPress teams maintaining responsive pages, configuring these options in the builder could reduce reliance on custom CSS. The practical benefit will depend on how the controls map to individual elements and existing site styles.

A further change, Split JavaScript Loading, is designed to load scripts according to the elements used on a page rather than include unnecessary code. This may reduce unused resources, although the performance effect is not yet established. WPBakery is preparing a 9.1 beta ahead of the official release and is seeking community testing and feedback.
