WooCommerce’s built-in importer handles products from CSV, but it does not provide a native route for importing orders from Excel workbooks. Converting .xlsx or .xls files to CSV can alter values: an order number such as 00417 may become 417, while dates and totals may lose usable formatting. WP All Import accepts Excel files directly and maps their columns to WooCommerce order fields through Automatic Setup.

The workflow begins by uploading the workbook, selecting WooCommerce orders, and reviewing the detected records and field mappings. Unclear column names can be explained with setup instructions; incorrect matches can be adjusted in Manual Setup. The preview displays orders in the WooCommerce admin layout, making it possible to check customer details and line items before saving records. Product lines can be matched to catalog entries by SKU or product ID.

Validation matters most for orders with many line items, where mapping errors are easier to expose. After the preview is checked, WP All Import processes the file in batches and reports created, updated, and skipped records. For repeat imports, assigning the original order number as the Unique Identifier allows existing orders to be updated rather than duplicated.
