WooCommerce’s built-in product importer, available since version 3.1, accepts CSV rather than XML. Supplier and legacy-platform feeds often store each product as a structured record, with nested or separately named values for categories, attributes, stock and pricing. Converting these feeds to CSV requires flattening that structure and matching columns to WooCommerce’s expected fields.
WP All Import can map XML elements directly to WooCommerce product data, including descriptions, prices, inventory, shipping details, attributes, categories, images and publish dates. Its Automatic Setup identifies the repeating product record and proposes field mappings, avoiding a conversion step while retaining the original feed structure. Files can be uploaded or retrieved from a URL or FTP/SFTP location.
A test using 35 product records produced 87 mapped fields. The workflow allows administrators to check the record count, inspect mappings, preview products in frontend and admin views, then run the import and review created, updated or skipped totals. These checks matter because XML element names are case-sensitive: feeds may contain similarly named fields such as duplicate SKU or price elements, and choosing the wrong one can silently import incorrect values. Automatic mapping reduces manual setup, but field-level review remains important.
