Moving order history into WooCommerce from Excel is a data migration, not a simple upload. WooCommerce’s built-in importer handles products, while orders require connected details: customer and address data, dates, statuses, line items, payment information, totals, coupons and refunds. Misread fields can distort reports and leave support teams without reliable transaction records.
WP All Import accepts .xlsx and .xls files, as well as CSV and XML, and provides an Automatic Setup workflow for WooCommerce orders. Files can be uploaded, retrieved from a URL or Google Sheets, read from the plugin’s uploads directory, or fetched over FTP/SFTP. The importer proposes field mappings, with order IDs or numbers helping match records during re-imports and avoid duplicates.
Administrators can check mappings for customer details, financials, line items, dates and statuses, correct them in Manual Setup, then preview records in the WooCommerce order screen. Setup instructions can clarify formats such as MM/DD/YYYY dates or pipe-delimited line items. WP All Import processes large histories in background batches, but source data still requires validation, particularly for refunds and financial reconciliation.
